(Levi x Reader x Eren) Monster (Part 20)

The day had finally come and everyone was on their way to the capital. The plan would be carried out exactly as we were told, which meant that right now I was stuck in a carriage with Erwin and Levi. I was still mad about Erwin’s decision to keep me out of the action, so the whole ride was silent, save for a few exchanges between the two men.
An explosion was heard and the carriage came to a halt; we knew right away what had happened.

All three of us stepped out of the carriage and Erwin spoke up to a man with his back facing us. “Nile!” Erwin called out and the man turned around, showing an older, wrinkled face. “Dispatch all of your soldiers. It’s probably a titan.”
“What are you saying?” Nile demanded, “This is Wall Sina! There can’t possibly be titans in here!”

Suddenly Jean, disguised as Eren, stormed out of his carriage, but was halted by one of the Military Police. “Stop! Don’t move, Jaeger!” he shouted as he tried to pushed Jean back into his carriage.

Jean scowled and reached up to his cranium, taking hold of the wig. “I’ve tired of playing dress-up!” he exclaimed, ripping the wig off his head. The guard stumbled back in surprise and Jean quickly manoeuvred over to us, calling out a quick, “Never call me that again, asshole!” as he rushed over. He stopped in front of Erwin, “Commander, I’ll go as well.”

“Get your gear from Team 4.” Was Erwin’s response.

“Yes, sir!” Jean then quickly put on his Survey Corps cloak.

“Having a fiery spirit is good, but don’t forget how to stay alive.” Levi commented,

“Yes, sir!” and with that, Jean rushed off.

“Good luck!” I called out to him and he gave me a quick thumbs up before disappearing.
“Erwin, what –”

Nile was cut off abruptly by a Survey Corps cadet. “Commander, here!” he had a box and opened it, revealing a set of pristine 3DMG.

“Thank you.” Said Erwin before he quickly geared up. Nile was going to say something again, but was cut off again by Erwin. “All that can move, mobilize! We must assist with the capture of the female-form!”

“Erwin, stop!” Nile said and pointed a musket at him, the surrounding Military Police following suit. “What you’re doing is a clear rebellion against the King!”

“No.” Levi interjected, “Is your head as hollow as that gun barrel?” I stifled a laugh at his comment and I saw him glance at me from the corner of his eye before quickly setting his attention back. “You haven’t a clue what’s going on, by the looks of it."

“Dismantle your gear, Erwin!” Nile said, completely ignoring Levi.

“You fucking humans can be so thick sometimes.” I muttered under my breath and it seemed only Levi was able to hear me as afterwards I received a dark glare from said male.

Time passed slowly and the tension was high. The surrounding Military Police never let their guards down, their guns were still pointed at our heads. Suddenly, two of the scouting MPs rushed over and hurriedly reported something to Nile, who had lowered his guard slightly to listen.

“Titans fighting each other?” he repeated, confusion and shock lacing his words as he stared at the other males, completely dumbfounded.

“Yes.” Was the response from one. “The damage to the city is unbelievable!”

“There are many casualties; both civilian and military.” Said the other.

Nile growled and pointed his gun once again, shouting angrily. “Erwin! Is this all due to your plan?”

Erwin seemed completely unfazed. “That’s correct.” He said simply, “All of this was my personal decision. I don’t intend to make excuses.”

Nile gasped and closed in on Erwin angrily, grasping him by the shirt and staring at him furiously. “You must have known what would happen if you executed a plan like this in the city.” He seethed, “How? How could you do this?”

“To lead humanity to victory.”

“BULLSHIT!” Nile yells indignantly, pointing the barrel of his gun directly at Erwin’s head. “You’re a traitor! I could execute you right here and now and none of the brass would even care!”

“That’s fine by me. But then you must assume command. You must not let the female titan escape. Paehl’s in charge of formation. Vyler oversees supply. Work with them to drive her to the east wall at all costs—”

“W-wait!” Nile exclaimed, cutting Erwin off. “Are you… Are you really telling me that this will help humanity?”

“It seems he’s finally starting to understand…” I whispered, crossing my arms over my chest, ignoring the glares sent my way by the surrounding men with guns.

“I believe it is a step forward.” Erwin replied.

What happened next completely shocked me. Nile lowered his gun and then commanded everyone else to follow suit. However, he also ordered them to handcuff Erwin. “Deploy all of our men.” He said, “Your priority is civilian rescue and evacuation!” I glared at Nile and from the corner of my eye I saw Levi doing the same. “Erwin, a trial will decide your punishment.”

“Once this is over, I’ll submit to one with pleasure.” Levi began limping away, but Erwin stopped him. “Levi, you stay put. You dislike pointless deaths.”

“Yeah, you’re right.” Levi replied, “I despise it, whether it be mine or my causing someone else’s.”

I sighed, shaking my head. “Well, I’m going.” I stated, making a move to walk away, but Levi grabbed my wrist.

“You’re not going anywhere, (name).” Erwin said, “You’ll just endanger yourself and everyone else.”

I pulled myself out of Levi’s grip and glared at the blonde man angrily. “FUCK YOU!” I shouted and everyone stared at me in absolute astonishment. “I’ve lived my entire life fighting things that are a thousand times more dangerous than what you have here! I know what I’m doing and I’m sure as hell not going to push my fucking abilities to the side and let these people die!” I clenched my fist, drawing blood from where my fingernails dug into the flesh of my palm.

“(name), you’re too –”

“You’re not going to stop me, Commander.” I closed my eyes and let the light engulf me as I turned into my Bellatórum form. Once the transformation was complete, I glared at Erwin with my now golden eyes and moved over to Levi, placing a hand on his cheek. He looked at me blankly, but I could see the concern in his eyes. “I’m sorry, Levi.”

And with that, I spread my wings and shot up into the sky, heading towards the battle where I knew Annie and Eren would be fighting, ignoring the calls and shouts of the people below me.
